How to cancel MailChimp double opt inadmin
How to cancel MailChimp double opt in
I’ve been investigating Email list opt in and have noticed there are alot of businesses out there who don’t use the double opt in for their email lists. I use MailChimp, which comes with double opt in for extra security for the person signing up, however, I’m now asking the question: does double opt in put people off signing up or clicking the last links in their email and not getting on the list and can MailChimp double opt in be cancelled?
I’ve been running a boosted post on Facebook for my FREE ebook on how to improve your Facebook engagement. The post itself has received lots of clicks but only generated two sign ups. After doing a bit of research in forums and groups on Facebook it would seem alot of people get put off by the double opt in… major humf for me. All is not lost and there are ways around it.
How to get round MailChimp Double opt in
- If you use the MailChimp Plugin on your WordPress website you can disable the double opt in option from the Plugin settings. MailChimp will still send your Welcome email too, which is an added bonus. However, if you are using the direct link to your Mailchimp sign up form in social media then the double opt in remains. What I would suggest is directing people to your website to sign up.
- Use Wufoo, which allows you to override the double opt in and integrates with MailChimp very easily. The only draw back on this is that if you are offering a freebie like me you have to use the paid version to attach a PDF or link to a website.
- There are plugins available that stop the double opt in Sumome and Bloom. Both are displayed as pop ups on your website and opt the client straight in. I have them on mine and they work brilliantly. Both plugins are available from the plugin directory on your website.
I hope this has been helpful. Until next time.
