Last night saw the launch of #sunderlandhour on Twitter, which was founded by me! Eek! Exciting!
I’ve been on Twitter as @hvirtualassist for just over a year now and have realised the importance of networking and meeting businesses professionals. Lately I’ve been taking part in free online networking events for businesses throughout the UK.
These opportunities got me thinking that there wasn’t one for my local area Sunderland. So light bulb idea moment!! Ping! I thought why not set one up?
I spoke to local businesses to see if interest could be generated and all were in agreement that it was a good idea.
In the weeks leading up to #sunderlandhour I researched times available and drummed up interest via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. I confirmed a date for Thursdays 8-9pm.
As launch date drew near ill admit I got a bit nervous as there are some huge established groups already out there. 8pm came and we got off to a slow start but by 9pm the hour had flown and was a fab success.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for taking part and showing what an amazing city Sunderland is. Everyone was very supportive and I received some lovely comments.
Let’s get the word spread about #sunderlandhour every Thursday 8-9pm. A fab city with amazing sparkling businesses.
Let’s make this HUGE
