Snagit – Screen Capture Tool

Snagit – Screen Capture Tool

I’ve been thinking of new blog ideas and have spent the last two weeks putting together drafts. I tweet quite often about tips for spreadsheets, databases and different systems to hashtag #hjctoptip so thought that it would be a good idea to consolidate these tweets into a blog. Whilst putting the blogs together I needed screen capture images to provide step by step picture guides on how to do functions.

To help me do this I’ve been using Snagit, which is a screen capture tool. It’s functions are amazing and have allowed me to print screen, capture images and put together some helpful screen tips.

Snagit gives you the tools to ehance, videos, pictures, presentations, articles, systems guides and so much more.

Snagit can be used in:

Training & Education establishments i.e. Colleges, Universities and external bodies

Take screen captures of content on screen, embed them into the lesson or save for later use. If a student has a question about text on screen, you can capture the image and add speech bubbles and arrows to enhance it with your answers.

Business organisations, SME’s of all areas

To put together guides to systems. To save information from meetings. It can also be used for Training seminars to highlight important agenda items. If you are designing a magazine or leaflet the built in features and tools can brighten up and add sparkle to any document.

Within the home environment

If you are wanting to redesign your kitchen or something in the home you can take a screen capture of what is on screen and save it for late use. We all use Facebook and Twitter and Snagit can be used to capture images or parts of text people have posted. You might want to put together a collage for a birthday or special occassion and with Snagit’s tools this will be the perfect programme to use.

The programme enables you to save websites with it’s scrolling features and also send your pictures or content to Microsoft Word or Powerpoint. It also works with both PC and MAC.

If you’re new to technology or wanting to give your business, assignments or any document that added sparkle then I can highly recommend Snagit.

Techsmith also have some useful tutorials http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-snagit.html

I hope you find this useful and get around to using Snagit very soon.
